Welcome! Tacoma Fibercrafters promoting fiber arts: spinning, knitting and weaving.

We are a diverse group of people with a common interest, the design and crafting of unique custom handspun, knitted and woven fibers into beautiful, functional garments and crafts.

We invite you to return to our site and check our progress in promoting our craft and join us at our meetings the third Wednesday of each month at The Antique Sandwich Shop in Ruston.  Exceptions to the third Wednesday happen in September and December.  In September we are participating in the Puyallup Fair 4×4 where we demonstrate all day at the fair to earn money for our guild.  You’ll find us under the grandstands, usually on the third Wednesday of September, having a grand time sharing our craft with the public.  We also meet somewhere else in December to share a holiday celebration with great food and a gift exchange.  We usually have this meeting earlier in the month to avoid interferring with other obligations as we approach Christmas.

Tacoma Fibercrafters is a spinning, knitting and weaving guild in Tacoma, Washington.  We are members of the ANWG, Association of Northwest Weavers’ Guilds (ANWG). ANWG is a non-profit organization supporting the Fiber Arts in the northwest US and western Canada.  ANWG does not have individuals as members but each Member Guild is composed of individuals. Individuals pay dues to their Member Guild and the Member Guild pays dues to ANWG. To learn more visit their site at  ANWG website.  As members of ANWG we enjoy discounts in participating in their annual conference and other resource for fiber artists.  The name would suggest that ANWG is a guild for weavers, there are also resources and workshops for all sorts of fiber arts.  As with Tacoma Fibercrafters, we are not just or primarily weavers.  We practice and welcome a host of the fiberarts, to include, fiber preparations, carding, dying, spinning, weaving, rug hooking, felting, equipment build and repair.  We have members who are vendors at local events.  We also have members who prepare beautiful fiber for resale.  We will support you in your efforts to advance in you skills whenever we can and hope to also learn from you.
